I thought I’d take this opportunity to introduce myself.

Hi, I’m Nicole.
Telling stories, and story in general have always been a passion of mine. I fell in love with photos as a child when I discovered old photo albums in a cupboard at my grandmother’s home. Anytime I visited (which was often) my grandmother would sit and tell me stories about the people in them. Two of my favorite things as a middle schooler was a Polaroid camera and a Diary. I remember having this pink diary with a lock and key that smelled like cotton candy I got for my birthday one year. By the end of that year I couldn’t lock it because I’d filled the pages with my stories and Polaroid snapshots.

I stumbled into photography when I became a blogger way back in 2006 and needed photos to help tell my story.

Blogging progressed into freelance writing and copyediting, which then led me to managing social media. Product photography naturally extended out of that.

Lately the Holy Spirit has been putting more opportunities for me to take photos of people, and I enjoy it so much... So I’m gonna follow the Holy Spirit’s lead.
I’ve also discovered when I take photos of actual people my writing life is better, so this pursuit is kinda selfish too. It’s like a creative cacophony of awesome.

I hope my photos will tell a story for the people I capture. A story that will be told for generations to come, like my grandmother’s photos do for ours.

Over the last few months the Holy Spirit is calling me more and more to get behind my camera. I’m moving the t-shirt boutique to @monarch.row.

The best part about this is that my beloved, my best guy is going to take an active part of this, especially once he retires from the Air Force. His eye for photography is exceptional and I can’t wait for you to see his work.

Today we remember and honor MLK. He tirelessly worked to battle racial inequality and division through non-violent efforts. His words remind us what we need to create real change in the world. In our effort to be a positive force for change and
in support of equal rights for all persons. Proceeds from the sale of our Rosa Parks, “Nah” quote t-shirt will be donated in support of Black Americans for Life, beginning today, and throughout the month of February.

My hope for this business is that it will be something my husband and I will be able to work together, once he retires from the Air Force. More than that, it’s a way for me to be creative (outside of writing) and honestly, to give back in a way, we hope will be REALLY BIG.

Each month, a portion of proceeds from our sales will be donated to a charitable organization, that supports causes that will help make this world a better and more kinder place.

How did you spend your Saturday?
I made a quick Target run where I picked up a new watering can. Then I came home and my mom helped me plant some bulbs and lavender and I finally filled the pots I bought a few weeks ago. Then I hosed down my front porch and all the siding. I’m not sure if this is a Florida thing, but I kinda feel like it is. Oh! And I have flowering trees in my yard!!! Now I’m sitting on my front porch watching the rain come in. #targetstyle #frontporchsittin #frontporchdecor
